Reinventing Great Minds Learning Center

Abbey Payeur is an Assistant Professor of Education, Literacy at Bethel University. Listen as she shares how she became interested in Science of Reading and why she enjoys sharing what she has learned.

In March of 2020, Covid hit the United States. Schools started shutting down. Online learning became the new normal. This was hard for many children. Great Minds Learning Center was there to keep kids on track and thriving, even through the pandemic.  Online lessons proved to be equally effective for most students.  A year later, students started trickling back into the office, although many still receive services online. Another new normal had been formed. 

Inspired by her daughters difficulties with traditional teaching methods and her subsequent diagnosis with dyslexia, Marianne Jylha planted the seed of a vision — a better way to help struggling readers and spellers.

This fellow is a hard worker. He comes in and sharpens the pencils, makes sure the iPads have full charge and gets the workspace ready for a good lesson.
